1. About Covvey
Covvey is a private community app operated by Stag Space (Private) Limited ("we", "us", or "our"). Covvey allows users to create and participate in private, invitation-only communities ("covvies") for trusted groups such as school alumni batches, families, and diaspora communities.
2. Eligibility
To use Covvey you must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have a valid mobile phone number capable of receiving SMS
- Have been invited to join a covvy by an existing member or admin, or be creating a new covvy
- Agree to and comply with these Terms
By using Covvey, you represent and warrant that you meet all of these requirements.
3. Your account
Your account is created using your phone number and verified via one-time password (OTP). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your phone and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to:
- Share your OTP or account access with anyone
- Create more than one account
- Create an account on behalf of another person without their consent
- Use false information when setting up your profile
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Covvies — private communities
Each covvy is a private, closed space. Access requires an invite code from the covvy admin or an existing member (if the admin has enabled member invitations). Covvy admins have the right to:
- Approve or decline membership requests
- Remove members from their covvy
- Configure covvy settings including member limits and invitation permissions
We are not responsible for decisions made by covvy admins regarding membership or content within their covvy.
5. User content
You retain ownership of all content you post on Covvey, including milestone posts, comments, chat messages, and photos ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Stag Space (Private) Limited a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Covvey service.
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to post content that:
- Is false, misleading, or deceptive
- Is abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory
- Violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
- Contains nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence
- Promotes illegal activity
- Constitutes spam or unsolicited commercial messages
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, though we are not obligated to review content proactively.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use Covvey for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any covvy, account, or system
- Interfere with or disrupt the Covvey service or servers
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access Covvey
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use Covvey to send spam, phishing messages, or malware
- Collect or harvest personal information of other users without their consent
7. Privacy
Your use of Covvey is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.
8. Intellectual property
The Covvey app, brand, logo, and all content produced by us (excluding User Content) are the intellectual property of Stag Space (Private) Limited. You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.
9. Termination
You may stop using Covvey at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting us at hello@stagspace.lk.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, without prior notice or liability.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stag Space (Private) Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Covvey, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or reputational harm.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Covvey shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Covvey shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Covvey after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Covvey.
